- This is a description for a timed selfbondage
Stock Lock made by Eric Oops for Miss Nina.
-
- Details:
- 4cm thick wood, about 115cm in length
and weighing approximately 3kg.
-
- The magnet is a Hekatron door magnet 24v
DC. It has got 686N (80kg) holding force, so you cant get
it apart.. even when you put your weight into it. Its connected
to the wall outlet through a currency converter (from 220v AC
to 24v DC) and an electronic timer in between. The timer can
do a countdown from 24h to 1 minute.
-
- The magnet was put in the middle because
there was enough space. Placing it on the side (at the opposite
side from the hinge) wouldnt look that good and it would
be more vulnerable. The way its mounted its that
the subside is completely flat and no cables can be reached.
-
- The stock must be fixed to a stationary
object with a chain or rope shorter than the power cord (to prevent
pulling it out or tearing apart).
-
-
- Designers notes:
-
- It took me about 2 weeks.
Watching
the paint dry was a kind of selfbondage as well :)
- But actually its quite easy to make
but you will need some tools.
-
- I started with 2 pieces of timber, cut
at the right length. When you push them together and hold them
in place with something (like the hinge will do later on) you
can easily cut the holes with one of those hole-drill bits. The
size of the holes is of course custom made for your own ankles
and wrists. It does take a lot of sanding and moulding before
it fits you.
-
- The pieces of timber on the side act as
stabilizers when closing the stock.
-
- Getting the magnet in right does take
a lot of measuring.. you want to have a bit of tension on the
magnet when its locked. When its higher than the
stock it doesnt close all the way, when the magnet is placed
to low, it wont lock.
-
- By the way, just buying one of these magnets
is also a good start.
